Back Pocket has been awarded 4 Stars in the latest edition of James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion (2009) released in August.
Our wine scores were:
- 4.5 cups: Old Savina 2005 (90/100)
- 4.5 cups: Castanets 2007 (90/100)
- 4 cups: Pickpocket 2007 (87/100)
- 4 cups: Arabia 2005 (87/100).

Event - Vines, Food & Wine
Our inaugural event was a great success. 43 guests joined us for a tour of Back Pocket vineyard on a glorious Autumn afternoon. We then packed the Piano Lounge & Wine Bar at the Commercial Hotel in Stanthorpe, to try our current range of single-vineyard wines matched perfectly with superb tapas created by celebrity chef, Matt Golinski. Local musician, David Hume, played Spanish classical guitar throughout.

Rain!
We had 177mm of rain between Friday 4 and Saturday 5 January 2008 which turned our 3-4m dry creek bed into a 35m raging torrent that blocked our only access to and from the property.
Our dam is full and still overflowing.
Climate Friendly Vineyard
We understand that burning fossil fuels for electricity and transport is a major cause of climate change. So, we fund clean energy projects that reduce power station emissions and thereby save as much CO2 as we emit through our vineyard activities - making us climate neutral.
We do this in partnership with Climate Friendly whose projects have the support of WWF-Australia. Climate Friendly projects not only help us to neutralise our own emissions, they contribute to the growth of the renewable energy industry.
